    Personalized Fitness Center (PFC)  
   

Head upstairs to the non-intimidating Personsal Fitness Center (PFC) featuring a full circuit of strength training machines, treadmills, upright and recumbent bicycles, and elliptical crosstrainers. An instructor is available to answer questions and provide assistance.

If you're a beginning exerciser or returning from time off, this program, free to members, is ideal for you. Your instructor will monitor your progress over 12 weeks.

    Strength Training Center (STC)  
   

The Strength Training Center (STC) offers a complete line of strength training equipment including Free Motion, Icarian, Cybex and Hammer Strength equipment.

There is a large selection of free weights, as well as new Nautilus treadmills, Cardio Wave machines, Stair Masters, Step Mills, recumbent and upright bikes, Fluid Rowing machines and elliptical trainers. Many of the pieces are equipped with personalized TV viewing screens. An instructor is available to answer
questions.

Fitness Center Policies

Personalized Fitness Center &
Strength Training Center Etiquette

  • T-shirts and athletic shoes must be worn at all times. No jeans, please.
  • No food or drink except water and fitness drinks in sealed plastic bottles are acceptable.
  • No chewing gum allowed.
  • Towels are required in the workout room.
  • 13-17 year olds must participate in a teen orientation before using any fitness equipment.
  • Due to San Diego County Corporate YMCA liability requirements, all personal training must be provided by the Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA Personal Training staff only.
  • There are no exceptions! All Personal Training fees are non-refundable.
 
     
 

Equipment 101

PFC Equipment 101
Individuals 13 years and older should take advantage of this session with one of our qualified instructors. An instructor will help you design your fitness program and show you how to use all the center’s equipment.

FEES:

Member: FREE
Particpant: $10 day use
Seniors: $7 day use

STC Equipment 101
Individuals 18 years and older should take advantage of this private session with one of our qualified instructors. The instructor will help you become familiar with the
equipment and lead you through your first workout. Members are encouraged to sign up for an individual adult orientation every four months to evaluate and upgrade their fitness routines.

Member: FREE
Particpant: $10 day use
Seniors: $7 day use

STC Teen Equipment Orientation
Required for members 13-17 years, this orientation teaches basic fitness principles, proper use of the facility and equipment, correct form and technique. Students will learn how to design and maintain a fun and effective exercise program. The Teen Orientation is two parts: (1) quiz and (2) equipment orientation. Participants must
complete both parts.
